Can fire spray be used externally?

Yes. Gypsum vermiculite can handle temporary exposure, but a cementitious product like Fendolite MII is recommended for a permanent solution. Intumescent spray products approved for external use are also available.

Can coatings be applied offsite?

Yes, fireproof spray coatings can be applied offsite or before installation. Caution is needed during transport and installation to avoid damage. Remedial works and additional coats can be done onsite after installation.

How thick will the coating be?

The thickness of fire protective coatings depends on the product used, fire resistance level, exposed steel area, and substrate preparation required.

Does vermiculite contain asbestos?

No, our vermiculite products are asbestos-free. However, older buildings may have used contaminated imported vermiculite. Check your building’s asbestos register or consult a qualified professional.

Do you provide a certificate of compliance or passive fire register?

Yes, our team is experienced with AS1530.4 and AS4072.1 standards. We install tested passive fire systems compliant with Australian Standards and provide an installation certificate and passive fire register at no extra cost.
