At Ceasefire, we understand that vermiculite spray is dirty business. That’s why we work closely with builders and clients to deliver a clean, quality finish. Whether it’s an occupied building or a new construction project, we always leave the worksite clean. To achieve this, we employ only the best vermiculite fire spray applicators in Sydney. Vermiculite firespray is the most cost-effective solution to fireproofing structural steel and is a highly specialised skill. Ceasefire are approved applicators of all types of vermiculite products including, but not limited to, Cafco 300, Fendolite MII, and Promaspray 300..
Intumescent paint
If you’re looking for a more polished finish, intumescent paint can be applied to structural steel to achieve the same fire-rating level as vermiculite coatings. There are also intumescent products tested and approved for
external use (i.e. exposed to weather). Intumescent paint is generally a less cost-effective approach than vermiculite spray for structural steel fire protection, but its finish is unmatched in appearance.
Duct fire protection
Vermiculite fire spray for duct
Vermiculite spray can be used to enclose ductwork to maintain an FRL of up to 3 hours. All of our passive fire spray work is carried out by trained applicators to guarantee a smooth finish and a clean worksite. We can also install fire rated fan unit enclosures and fire rated access panels. All of our work comes complete with identification and compliance certification.
Fyrewrap for duct
Fyrewrap and similar products can be used as an alternative to vermiculite spray for protecting a duct. Fyrewrap offers a clean, easy, and fast approach to duct fire protection and can be up to four times lighter than fire spray. It can also be used to achieve fire rated fan units with fire rated access panels.

All of our technicians are trained to install fire rated products according to tested and approved passive fire systems. Our work comes complete with identification and compliance certification.
Slab and wall frl upgrade
Slab and wall frl upgrades
Vermiculite fire spray can be used to upgrade the fire resistance level of slabs and walls while also resulting in a nice textured finish. This is the fastest and most cost effective way to upgrade the FRL of a slab or firewall. Vermiculite fireproofing is known to be a dirty job, that’s why we always use trained applicators and masking protection when necessary to produce a nice finish without disrupting the surrounding services. A cement-based product can be used on exposed walls for external applications.

Vermiculite textured popcorn ceilings were popular throughout the sixties and into the eighties thanks to their low cost , fast application, and benefits including acoustic absorption, fire resistance, and durability. It’s important to note that older buildings from this era may have used imported products that were contaminated with asbestos. Please refer to your building’s asbestos register/management plan or conduct an audit with a qualified consultant before working with existing vermiculite ceilings.

There are many tested and approved fire barrier systems that can be used but we can also install any fire and smoke barrier according to the performance solutions of your fire engineers.
