Trafalgar’s FyreCOLLAR Cast-in High Top range can achieve up to 4 hours protection across a huge range of common pipes, types and sizes. These collars are designed for use in concrete floor slabs up to 250mm thick, where the head of the high cast-in fire collar extends above the surface of the floor so that sections of pipe are not needed as part of the installation process. Once the concrete is set, simply run your plastic or metal pipes through the collars which are fitted with a rubber gasket to prevent smoke leakage through the penetration. Approved with PVC, HDPE, PP-R, PP, RAUPIANO and copper and steel pipes up to 100mm diameter. The FyreCOLLAR Cast-In High range is also fire tested for up to 2 x pair coil bundles with FR insulation and associated cables. The high-top cast-in fire collar is available in three size and suits pipes 40mm up to 100mm.

With the price of copper increasing, alternative pipe materials are becoming more and more common for plumbing systems. This presents an issue where new services are being introduced to the market with limited passive fire protection systems tested to maintain the FRL of the fire barriers that they penetrate through. One such example is larger diameter (40, 50, and 63mm) Multi-Layer Pipes like PEX-AL-PEX which are becoming more common in plumbing installations. Conventional intumescent-only fire collars are not adequate to close larger diameters of PEX-Al-PEX pipe. Trafalgar has developed a mechanically assisted intumescent fire collar system to address this problem, fire tested specifically for PEX-Al-PEX pipe materials and achieving FRL ratings of up to -/120/120 in concrete floor slabs.

Trafalgar’s BladeRUNNER is ideal for confined spaces and its compact design makes it a functional choice for narrow or restricted areas. Whether you’re dealing with limited clearance around pipe penetrations or if the pipe elbow is too close to the slab, the BladeRUNNER provides an effective fire safety solution without the need for space alterations and board construction. The BladeRUNNER is a slimline spring-loaded fire collar that can be easily installed around existing floor waste or drain/waste/vent pipe penetrations, providing a cost-effective alternative to expensive fire board enclosures or bulky retrofit collars. BladeRUNNER is tested to AS1530.4 and is suitable for 40-100mm PVC pipes to upgrade incorrect or non-existent fire collars. The slimline design is also perfect for drain/waste/vent applications (AKA stack pipes) where there is no room for a traditional bulky retro-fit fire collar and is tested for PVC pipe materials connected to P-traps or elbows directly underneath the slab.

Floor waste applications are not continuous pipes, often having a metal grille finished at the floor level above. Standard intumescent collars will not close off the penetration quickly enough to prevent early fire spread. Trafalgar’s floor waste fire collar is fitted with a spring-loaded mechanical system that will shut the plastic pipe early when exposed to fire conditions, to effectively close off the penetration whilst the intumescent material swells to close off any remaining gaps, stopping the spread of fire in this unique application. Tested to AS1530.4 – 2014, the floor waste FyreCOLLAR is available in both high and low top options and has been tested for a range of pipe materials connected to 4-way risers and P-traps directly underneath the slab for the following 100mm PVC, HDPE, Raupiano, and DBlue pipes:
